Projects

This page is being expanded. Additional case studies will be added as documentation is finalised.

Black Summer 2019–20 (ongoing)

High-frequency Himawari-8 reconstruction of smoke fronts, rapid-change plume behaviour and ground-level impact patterns. Work includes ΔFusion processing, dispersion interpretation and evaluation of short-duration exposure peaks.

Kalimantan and Hanoi haze studies (ongoing)

ΔFusion-enhanced infrared and visible-band analysis of regional haze affecting Kalimantan and northern Vietnam. Focus on plume structure, transport into urban basins and alignment with CAMS and monitoring datasets.

CAMS reanalysis evaluation

Independent assessment of CAMS aerosol and trace-gas fields across the Asia-Pacific, including comparison against monitoring networks and identification of regional biases relevant to modelling and policy use.

Himawari-8/9 method development

Development of ΔFusion radiance, temperature and motion deltas; validation against monitoring data; and examination of physical structure not captured in hourly or daily products.

Fire, dust and visibility casework

Event-specific reconstruction of smoke, dust and visibility conditions for regulatory, planning and technical review contexts.
